Shift+Option for a precision volume control in OS XJuly 1st, 2012
When Apple released OS X Lion 10.7, one of the feature that was taken away is the ability to increase or decrease the volume by one-fourth of a volume block. This annoyed longtime Mac users who long for the precision for a ‘fine-tuned’ listening experience on their Mac. This dearly missed feature is back with the release of OS X Lion 10.7.4. For a precision volume control, simply hold down the Shift and Option keys together while pressing the volume up/down key.
