The Steve Jobs sanctioned biography iSteve: The Book of Jobs by Walter Isaacson is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The book is set to be released on March 6, 2012 by Simon & Schuster. At 448 pages, iSteve is priced at US$18 for hardcover and $14.99 for the Kindle edition.

Amazon Windowshop is Amazon.com for iPad

Not sure about you, but we find Windowshop a strange name for an app especially an app that represents Amazon.com, which is a rewrite of Amazon.com for the iPad. Regular Amazon.com shoppers will feel at home as Windowshop shares similar cataloging features as the websites such as “Recommendations”, “Features” listing and 1-Click checkout.

Amazon Releases Bookmarklet For Its Wishlist

If you shop a lot at Amazon.com, you know its Wishlist feature is useful to quench your shopaholic thirst when you are running low on credit. Amazon now has a bookmarklet called “Universal Wish List Button” to make it easy for you to add any web page into your Amazon Wishlist.

Reading Technical Document PDFs On Kindle DX

Amazon released its 9.7inch display Kindle DX on June 10, at $489 it is not inexpensive and deserves more careful evaluation before your purchase.

One of the new feature of Kindle DX is its build-in PDF support. The older Kindle and Kindle 2 requires conversion before reading a PDF document. We found the post by Matthew Williams useful to see how Kindle DX fare in terms of reading technical document PDFs. Matthew included a number of large resolution screenshots of Kindle DX in action with PDF technical documents.

Amazon on Monday announced its second-gen ebook reader Kindle 2 in a press event at New York’s Morgan Library. It will be released on February 24 and is available for preorder at $359. This is the same price as Kindle 1. If you have Kindle 1 order unfulfilled, Amazon will ship you Kindle 2.

TiVo Teams Up With Amazon To Provide Shopping With The Remote

TiVo subscribers can now use their remote control to buy products seen on TV shows. TiVo announced that they have teamed up with Amazon to enable TV viewers to purchase products on the TV ads or related to their favorite TV shows without leaving their couch.

Scott Merlino, senior manager of business development at Amazon.com, said, “Teaming up with TiVo enables TV advertisers to break free of traditional shopping channel limitations and reach a specific, targeted audience regardless of which network or show they are watching. Now, a record label can merchandise and sell a new artist’s CD on a show where the music is featured, or a publisher can merchandise an author’s book during a talk show when the author appears as a guest”

TiVo’s Universal Swivel Search allows users to search in Amazon for targeted products for their favorite shows. Users can purchase the product immediately or add it to their Amazon shopping cart for later checkout. Purchases will be secured with a PIN associated with the user’s Amazon account.
