Apple To Fix iPhone PDF Security Hole In Upcoming Release

JailBreakMe is the first iPhone jailbreak that works using just the mobile Safari browser by visiting the website. Turns out that JailBreakMe website is using a PDF font parsing security hole in mobile Safari for the exploit. Apple has issued an statement “We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”

We expect Apple to release this security fix with the upcoming iOS 4.1. Apple just released iOS 4.1 Beta 3 to its developers this Tuesday. The final release might appear as soon as next week.
