Skype 5 for Mac beta adds group video calling and address book integration

Skype has released the beta of Skype 5 for Mac, weeks after its release for Windows. The overall interface is revamped, with a sidebar housing all your contacts and dialing history. New in Skype 5 is the integration of your contacts with the Mac’s Address Book. The dialing pad is now floating and appears as needed.

The main new feature in Skype 5 is the ability for group video calling. All participants of video calling however requires Skype 5 or higher on Windows or Mac. There is no indication if video calling will be extended to Skype for iPhone in the future, but we see this coming sooner or later.
