Beats Music launches music streaming service and app

The much-hyped Beats Music finally is here. The music streaming service competes directly with Pandora, Spotify, Rdio and iTunes Radio. One differentiating feature of Beats Music is curation. Beats Music hires or partners with music experts from publications such as Rolling Stones, Pitchfork and DJs from radio stations to curate stations, playlists from its catalog of 20 million songs.

We wanted to build a music service that combined the freedom of an on-demand subscription service – unlimited, uninterrupted streaming and downloads of tens of millions of songs – but layer on top features that would give you that feeling only music that moves you can give. The right song at the right time will give you a chill. Make you pull someone close. Nod your head. Sing in the mirror. Roll down the car window and crank the volume to the right.

Similar to other music streaming service, Beats Music users can create and share their playlists with friends. Monthly subscription is $9.99 for unlimited streaming, unlimited downloads for offline listening and no ads. AT&T customer can sign up a Family Plan for $14.99 per month for up to five members and ten devices. Beats Music for iOS is a free download.
