Control Center is a convenient iOS 7 feature for quick access to regularly used settings such as Wi-Fi, media control, orientation lock, AirPlay, calculator, torch light etc. It is activated by swiping up the screen from bottom on the lock screen, the home screen or from within apps.
You can disabled Control Center from being activated on the lock screen or from within apps. Go to Settings > Control Center. Turn off “Access on Lock Screen” to disable access to Control Center on lock screen. Turn off “Access Within Apps” to disable access to Control Center when you’re running an app.
Disable access to Control Center on the lock screen will prevent anyone picking up your device to mess with it, this at the cost of inconvenience as you now need to unlock the device in order to use the Control Center.
