Display a message in OS X login screen

OS X allows you to display a short message in the login screen. The message can be anything to user attempting to log in for example a guest account, or to provide your contact info when you misplaced your Mac.

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, click the lock icon at bottom left corner and unlock with an administrator name and password.

Click to check the box “Show a message when the screen is locked”  and click on the button “Set Lock Message…” to set the login message.
