Popular indie game Minecraft has made it into the Apple iOS world. Minecraft Pocket Edition is an universal app for both iPhone and iPad. The game however is a scaled down version of the full version on PC/Mac. Minecraft Pocket Edition lacks the survival mode, has a different control using touch, only has 36 type of blocks and visible elements differences such as terrain, water and sky. Nevertheless, developer Mojang has mentioned that they are working to close the feature gap between the Pocket Edition and the full version.

Rockstar Games has released the classic Grand Theft Auto 3, making it one of the first high profile titles available on the Mac App Store. Released back in 2001 for PlayStation 2, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 3 is the first GTA game in 3D and was a landmark hit back then. Rockstar plans to release on the Mac App Store GTA Vice City on August 25 and GTA San Andreas on September 1.
Rage game from id Software is free for a week on the App Store, for both iPhone version and Rage HD for iPad. Rage is an arcade style rails shooter game that has won critical acclaim both from critics and users.
